Lots of summer loves right now!

My CSA (Elmwood Stock Farm)

Holy fresh vegetables galore! My fridge has been full every single week for the past month, and it’s forcing me to think outside the box, try new recipes, and get a little creative in the kitchen. CSA’s are awesome because they support local farmers that work hard to bring sustainable, clean food to consumers. But also, when we get loaded up with a vegetable delivery every week, we tend to eat them!

The Flavor Bible: The Essential Guide to Culinary Creativity, Based on the Wisdom of America’s Most Imaginative Chefs

So I’ve got that fridge full of veggies from my CSA, but creating recipes is a struggle for me. Enter The Flavor Bible. When you want to get a little more creative in the kitchen, but you need some flavor combining inspiration, this book is an absolute must. It’s my go to consultant on figuring out what fresh herbs would pair fabulously with my big bunch of kohlrabi.

Cuisinart ICE-30BC Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Automatic Frozen Yogurt, Sorbet, and Ice Cream Maker

Summer is for ice cream lovers. Unfortunately, dairy does quite a number on my acid reflux, and like many store bought varieties, most conventional ice cream is loaded with processed sugar and other crap. By making your own, you can upgrade your ingredients (how about some coconut milk, fresh blackberries, and toasted pecans…yum!), and keep the nasty stuff out. Here are two recipes that I can’t wait to try: Dairy Free Coconut Ice Cream and Olive Oil-Saffron Ice Cream with Burnt Orange-Caramel Swirl.

Justin’s Maple Almond Butter

This stuff is life changing.   Eat it by itself, pair it with an apple, or spread it on some toast – DIVINE. Justin’s is one of my favorite companies because sustainable, conscious consumerism is infused through their entire brand. You can even find out how many miles each of the ingredients has traveled before making the final product– very cool!

Kira Grace Leopard Flirt Skinny Yoga Pant

So I’m not a believer in spending a ton of money on workout clothes. (Wearing head to toe Lululemon is NOT mandatory for a good yoga experience). However, I am totally on board that sometimes putting on some cute gear for extra motivation in getting to the gym or the studio totally does the trick. These leopard print pants from Kira Grace are super fun and adorable – I’m especially in love with the scrunch at the bottom!

What are you loving right now? I would love to hear and try some new stuff out.

xo, Brooke
